Coats for Christmas celebrated 31 years of keeping the members of our community warm! No one deserves to be caught in the bitter cold without a coat. This thought was the beginning of Paul Kramer’s vision. He started the organization which then took off. The idea was to provide coats to anyone who needed one regardless of their financial situation. Every year coats are collected and sent to City Dry Cleaning and City Uniforms and Linen to be laundered prior to distribution. Since the beginning of the organization, the Hancock Leadership Alumni Association has taken over the organizing, marketing and distribution aspect.
This year 2,726 coats were collected and cleaned for distribution! Coats for Christmas distributed 1,322 coats in one weekend. The remaining coats were donated to the Findlay Kiwanis and CHOPIN Hall. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this possible. Stay warm and have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
