When it comes to uniform rental services, many businesses and organizations have questions about the process, costs, and benefits. We’ve compiled a list of the most common questions we receive to help you understand how our uniform rental service can meet your needs.

What are the benefits of a Uniform Program?

Renting uniforms takes a lot of the guess work out of the uniform process. Uniforms will be laundered on a timely schedule, and costs will be known in advance. Uniforms also have an increased longevity because they are receiving more care. Using a rental company give you the freedom to do what you do best, which doesn’t have to be uniform maintenance, leave that to us.

How do you ensure employees have the right sized uniforms?

When you start service, City will host a sizing event. First, let us know what kind of uniforms you need in your industry, and then we will provide samples of every size available for employees to try on. Once we find a good fit, we take specific measurements to ensure employees are getting a perfect fit with their uniforms. This event provides employees with the best fit possible with their uniforms leaving them feeling fresh and representing your brand in style.

My shirts are stained; can I get a new one?

Your uniform rental agreement has clear terms on what stained garments can be replaced. We will take the age of your uniforms and the degree of stain into account when examining the problem. We try not to replace garments if it will result in a damage charge. If your uniform is damaged beyond repair, we will replace it. Depending on the age of your uniform, it might result in a damage charge. Our advice is to take great care of your uniforms to avoid charges. But, we also offer a garment care program which can cover those costs.

What is City Garment Care?

City Garment Care is an insurance premium that covers damaged garments in circulation for customers who choose to participate. It is a convenient solution to the age-old problem of garment replacement charges which are typically disputed by most and helps stabilize your weekly invoice with a constant rate.

What is a loss charge?

A loss charge is a cost charged to your company for a canceled garment that has not been returned. Loss charges can result from, an employee not turning in their uniforms after they have been terminated or quit. Or when a new size is requested for an employee and the old one was never returned.

How do I know how old my garments are?

All of our garments have an “issue date” on the label

 

How does a Uniform Program work?

When you start a uniform program with us, you will be assigned a number of garments based on your work week. A typical 5-day work week will include 11 garments. 5 garments to wear each week, 5 garments being cleaned each week, and one extra garment, which would be your current wear. How can a Uniform Program save my company money?

Uniform Programs are designed to save your company money. By providing regular maintenance on uniforms the uniforms last longer, so new purchases will decrease. And employees do not have to launder clothes in their home, saving them time and money while also ensuring no cross contamination happens from the workplace to home and vice versa.

How does City Garment Care work?

All garments enrolled in the program are covered for damage under normal wear and tear, malicious damage will not be covered. The City Garment Care program will be a separate line item on your invoice and is an all-inclusive program per account (i.e., all departments participate). Any garments returned within the 120 days are still subject to our restock policy.
