MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATE (MA)

Position Description:

The maintenance associate is an integral part of the team at City Uniforms & Linen that helps insure all repairs and preventative maintenance is completed on all of the equipment, buildings, and grounds. By doing so, the maintenance associate ensures that optimum running condition is maintained as well as minimizing unscheduled downtime. A maintenance associate will also help to provide a safe work environment and maintain a professional looking building.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Inspect and repair all laundry equipment
  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Cleaning of lint from equipment and building
  • Maintain water treatment facility
  • Monitor chemical room inventory and submit to chemical supplier on weekly basis
  • Perform basic repairs in chemical room with the guidance of our chemical supplier
  • Follow all safety guidelines and give priority to all safety concerns in the facility
  • Contact service representatives for support when help is needed on equipment repairs
  • Research necessary parts needed to make repairs, contact suppliers, and order parts

Position Requirements / Physical Demands:

  • Troubleshooting skills, both electrical and mechanical
  • Ability to read blue prints and schematics
  • Boiler and HVAC knowledge
  • Ability to drive a tow motor
  • Knowledge of high voltage
  • Safety knowledge (lock-out/tag-out, Right-to-Know, handling of chemicals, etc.)
  • Flexibility on work hours and the ability to periodically work weekends or longer hours when needed
  • Clean driving record.

Education and Work Experience:

  • High school diploma with 5 years proven experience
  • 2 Year Associates degree in a mechanical/electrical field preferred

Route Specialist  (1 opening Findlay, Ohio)

Route Specialists of City Uniforms & Linen will daily interface with our valued customers and the general public. At all times, a Route Specialist must represent our company in a professional, motivated and cheerful manor. As a Route Specialist you will fill in on daily routes during holidays, vacations and illnesses. Your key tasks are to deliver uniforms, mats, linens and our other products in an organized and efficient manner.

The ideal candidate: must be 21 years old or older, able to pass a DOT physical; has an Ohio Drivers license with a clean driving record (required); has the ability to easily lift and carry 80 pounds for a short distance; is a detailed oriented individual who attends to the details; a professional appearance and presentation is required; with previous route driving and or customer service experience would be considered a plus, however, we are willing to train the right candidate. We are looking for candidates who have a passion to succeed and excel in this specialist’s role.

Customer Service Representative  (CSR)  Maple Heights/Cleveland,  Ohio

CSRs are City Uniforms & Linen’s main representation to our customers and the general public. At all times a CSR must represent our company in a professional, motivated and cheerful manor. A CSR key task is to deliver uniforms, mats, linens and our other products in an organized and efficient manner.

In addition, this position is responsible for inventory control and invoicing for all billable customer situations. Prospecting for new business in existing customer locations by offering all of our products and services via evaluations or asking for the customer for the order.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Load delivery unit in an organized and efficient manor based on the route sequence of the day.
  • Drive the delivery unit in a safe and courteous manor and obey all traffic regulations.
  • Delivers uniforms, mats, linens and our other products in an organized and efficient method.
  • Maintain inventory control of all goods, and invoice for all billable situations.
  • Prospecting for new business in existing customer locations by offering our products and services via evaluations or reviews and then asking for the order.
  • General knowledge of our corporation’s other divisions and be able to incorporate those opportunities by generating leads when/where appropriate.
  • CSR must garner a broad and specific knowledge of all product lines and services features and benefits.
  • CSR reports directly to Depot Manager on a daily basis and must maintain minimum percentages in areas of product revenue growth and is involved with invoice management.

Position Requirements / Physical Demands:

  • A CSR must have excellent people handling skills coupled with years of previous experience in our industry or related service industry. A CSR must maintain ‘customer good will’ by demonstrating interest in their business, devoting time and common courtesies toward the customer; handling customer questions, complaints as they occur. All the while, keeping Service Manager and Supervisor informed of any customer issues.
  • Cultivation of new sales or service opportunities at both existing and potential prospects.
  • Being thoroughly knowledgeable on the company’s products, services, prices, policies and procedures.
  • Payment collections on all C.O.D accounts; also assist in collection of delinquent accounts;
  • Assisting in the control of material investment expense. Recover or charge for all company property at the time of stop service at any customer location.
  • Attending all company scheduled training and sales meetings.
  • Maintain your personal appearance in accordance with the company’s dress code.
  • Keeping the delivery vehicle clean at all times; check oil and other fluids daily, inspection and document reporting of any and all defects or issues immediately.
  • Driving safely and courteously at all times
  • Ability to lift / move 50-60 pounds of product repeatedly throughout shift; ability to climb stairs while carrying up to 60 pounds; ability to kneel, squat, reach above head and sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to pass Ohio Department of Transportation physical
  • Clean driving record.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, sales or marketing is a plus
  • 3-5 years of customer service experience in a relatable industry

Service Manager  (SM)  Findlay, Ohio

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key contacts and large accounts when directed
  • Maintains goals and aides in establishing measurable for loss and damage revenue as well as any other measurable that is deemed appropriate
  • Responsible for all aspects of inventory control in regards to rental products, ancillary products, and equipment hardware
  • Assists in development and implementation of training for all areas of the service department
  • Responsible for maintaining fleet preventative maintenance, repair, washing, monitoring, purchasing bids, rental contracts and all other applicable duties pertaining to the company’s fleet vehicles as well as maintain vendor relationships
  • Implements safe driving training and risk management initiatives as it relates to City uniforms and Linen’s fleet of vehicles while complying with all state, federal, and local laws
  • Interacts with Company insurance company on all vehicle/license issues and/or claims.
  • Monitor and maintain complete and accurate vehicle service records
  • Assists in training of sales promotions, monitoring results, coaching, and follow up with sales department for all sales promotions.
  • Performs interviewing, hiring, terminations, evaluations, mentoring and coaching of service team in conjunction with HR department
  • Attend and provide input and metrics in management meetings and quarterly/annual team and management meetings.
  • Scheduling of time off for supervisors and staff as appropriate and ensuring there is full coverage at all times

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and or sit all day as needed while working at a fast pace
  • Ability to walk, bend, crouch, lift, and climb. Use of leg, back and arm muscles
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds periodically throughout the day
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to drive and maneuver fleet vehicles
  • Clean driving record with the ability to be insured by our company is required.

  • Insure the highest level of service to all customers both internal and external
  • Provides leadership with motivated customer driven focus to service team and all other departments
  • Be knowledgeable in all key aspects of the industry in regards to product features and benefits, selling techniques, policies both internal and external, procedures, and pricing of products and services
  • Be knowledgeable in company policy, HR regulations, and adhere to them as well as hold subordinates accountable for same

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in business, marketing, finance, economics preferred but relevant experience in a related service environment will be considered.
  • 5 – 10 years proven managerial experience.
  • Above average competency in computer program usage.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Keen sense of purpose and ability to form relationships.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • High level of motivation and positive attitude is required.
  • Demonstrated skill in decision making, personal organization, and human resources is required.
  • Professional appearance and presentation is required.
